Designing Efficiency: A Communication Platform for Supplier-Trader Relationships

Georgia-Pacific Recycling

This project was developed for Georgia-Pacific, one of the world's leading manufacturers and marketers of paper-based products, including recycled materials. Their involvement in the recycling supply chain made them an ideal partner for addressing communication inefficiencies in the spot trading market. The result was a user-centric platform designed to enhance supplier-trader interactions and streamline workflows.

The Problem

The recycling spot trading market faced significant communication challenges. Fragmented channels led to delays, miscommunications, and missed opportunities for both suppliers and traders, impacting efficiency within Georgia-Pacific's recycling operations.

My Role

Research: Conducted in-depth stakeholder interviews and market analysis to identify key communication barriers and user needs.

Design: Created wireframes and prototypes, conducting iterative usability testing to refine the user experience.

Collaboration: Worked closely with Georgia-Pacific and the engineering team to integrate real-time messaging, transaction tracking, and other essential features.

The Solution

A communication platform designed specifically for the recycling market that:

Facilitates real-time messaging between suppliers and traders.

Simplifies transaction tracking, reducing delays and misunderstandings.

Provides tools to manage spot trading activities efficiently.
